There are many places to go to in Ghent, but one of the best ones to see is the Gravensteen. It dates back from before the medieval times and is still standing proud in the center of the city. This castle will make you feel like you are a knight as you walk trough the halls and gaze upon the armour and weaponry.
For Bart it's something that is one with the city and will always be a part of it. Although there are less tourists than you expect, for us that makes it the perfect spot to go all the way up the walls and take a perfect capture of your time in Ghent.
How to go to Gravensteen
Tram: If you are in Ghent then the best way to travel is by tram or busses, because most parts aren't allowed to go in by car. You can easily hop on a tram 1 or 4 and it will take you all the way to the front part of the castle. Prices are 4 Euros on the tram or in pre sale it's a card for 10 rides for 14 Euros. (That's better for a group or longer stay in the city)
Bicycle: Another good way to move around the city is by bicycle. You can rent them in different spots of the city and it is a great way to enjoy your trip. Bikes are a cheap way too, they go up from 3 Euros to 10 Euros a day.
On foot: When you walk around the city it is a good way to shop and see all the things you like and you dont have to worry about paying for anything and it is all close by.
