Not that long ago we went on and experienced one amazing Europe trip and had a great time. I wish it never ended but unfortunately this time I had to go without Eena and go with my friend instead, but first chance I get to bring her there I definitely will.
This aside, the trip to London was great. We started off by going on the bus really early and drove to the ferry in Calais.
Once we were there, we took the ferry and crossed over to Dover. Even on board there were so much things we couldn't buy in Belgium and I was tempted more than ever to buy chocolates and candies, but decided to wait for the return trip. Back on the bus we went and we drove all the way to London.
At the bus station I decided to walk to the place I stayed in. Passed Buckingham Palace and St. James Park I came in to the city and saw life like nowhere else in the world. The people are everywhere and always in some kind of rush. The buildings are beautiful and authentic, it has a very close resemblance to the ones in Belgium but that's just how the European style is, I think.
Once we have arrived at the place we will be staying in, we dropped off the bags, then decided to go to King's Cross station and visit the Harry Potter shop. Though there were sea of people inside the store, we still managed to look around for a bit and buy some little souvenirs.
After that, we went through to the city and made our way to the Madame Tussaud museum. Only to stumble onto what seemed to be a place for every tourist in London. It was crowded but still fun to see and we even experienced watching in a 4D cinema. We did skip the Star Wars part though, for there wasn't that much to see.
When we came out of it we decided to go and get ourselves some famous fish and chips.Excited as could be we walked in to the first place we came across that was selling it. But what a disappointment it was, the fries/chips were not good and the fish was okay but nothing special. Nevertheless we kept our heads high and started to discover the wonderful city of London. Later on the next day we came across a place just outside the city that was also selling fish and chips. So we tought, it could only improve. And really, Oh My God. The best fish and chips you can possibly immagine. It was really a life changer in compare to the earlier one. (So if you buy fish and chips in London, please go to a local store not a restaurant in the city).
For me at night the beauty really comes to its right and you will be stunned by the looks of the Big Ben and the London Eye.
After a good filled day we went to sleep and decided to make a great day of the one to come.
We started the second day by buying a ticket for the bus that is actually super expensive but it's for a full day so we thought, why not. Because it was raining we went to buy an umbrella and just walked. (We never used our ticket that day for the bus and so it went to waste, honestly not my best move)
Then, the highlight of the whole trip! I had the great opportunity to meet the people behind Searching for Tomorrow.
Kitty and Nathan are two of the most wonderful people I've ever met and are so kind. Not only was I able to talk to them,
I also took some photos and had a great chat. ( A special thank you to Nathan and Kitty!)
But that wasn't all we planned for that day, we had a booking for the London Dungeons. Indeed, a great treat for my eyes, so I definitely recommend this place once you go to London. Not only do you get to know the history of London, you also get to learn it in the most fun way possible.
This definitly made to my top 3 things that I did there. I won't spoil you with what happens inside, because that would take away the fun for yourself. All I can say is that there is a guy who counts the people in line faster than you can blink. It's an amusemnt on it's own to see him do his job.
Not to forget our next stop, the National Gallery. A wonderful gallery with paintings of all kind. I don't know much about paintings or painters, but there were a lot of masterpieces for my eyes in there.
Coming from the Gallery we made our way to Chinatown, which was surprisingly close. Not really much to tell but lovely to see when you are there.
By that time it was already evening and we walked till late that night. Discovering London for me is so lovely, every streets and every pub you pass by will give you a feeling of homecoming and yet a feeling that you are going out. For me, there is no other feeling in the world like that. That's something that made my top 3 as well, the night we just walked and discovered London.
Day three, also the last one of our trip. We planned to go to the Buckingham Palace and see some more of London while we were still there. Once we've arrived there we saw a line that would've taken us at least 2 hours to even get in and then we didn't see it yet. So that was the biggest mistake of our trip, we went too late. Having our hopes up to spending our last pounds on the ferry, we went to eat something and decided to wait for our bus.
And so, we said goodbye to London, driving to what we assumed was dover, only to realise that we were heading towards the train instead. There was no ferry, only a train where the bus drove onto. There was no chance of getting any of those chocolates or other sweets we were hoping for. Although our bodies thanked us for the unhealthy things we passed by, our hearts didn't.
Still, I will always remember London as the place to be discovered at night time. Next time I go, I know it will be with Eena by my side and we will have the most wonderful time of all.
For now, goodbye London and thank you for some great memories.
