Where do I even begin? The Philippines, it all started as a beautiful trip where I finally met this wonderful girl, who toured me around for her internship. And that Girl turned out to be no other one but, Eena ☺
But of course I went there more than once already (first time was when I met her, second time was last year) and every time we do so much fun things. Last time I went there we discovered Bohol. A truly amazing place with so much things to do. The beach was truly amazing, nothing like that from where I come, not even close.
So you can imagine that for me it was paradise. Aside from the beach we did this cool tarsier forest. Too bad it was raining that day so most of them were hiding or unable to see, although we did spot a few hiding and sleeping in the trees.
The most beautiful thing however from all the places we’ve been to in the province was the Chocolate Hills. We explored it by quad and buggy, first time I drove one, but it went good. Until I ran into the side of some bushes bumping over a rock. Nothing to worry, we were back on the way in no time.
Driving on a dirt road and what looked like a small local house or 2, we finally arrived at the hills. Magnificent point of view and worth every drop of sweat. Of course you can’t stay there for too long, so after a couple of minutes we headed back and decided to go swim some more. After that we just enjoyed the weather and the place, till it was time to go home.
It would be so ungrateful towards the Philippines and all the people living there if I only told you about Bohol. Because let’s be honest it’s the Philippines! Even though there are so much poverty and corruption, you will still see the beauty of it when you open your eyes.
We both love to eat good food, so no better place to roam around and look for food than Asia. I can say that with everywhere I’ve been, there is not a single place that serves you better food, not Belgium, not UK, not France nor Spain gave me this good food. Every time I go back there all I want to do is have some great meal and enjoy life.
One thing I can’t stand is the heat. I’m a cold blooded person, so if I go out there and I start to sweat I get cranky or I want to go find the nearest place to go inside, so a special thank you to Eena who is always helping and supporting me through the heat. But I promise even with the heat, the malls, the beaches, and the museums are so nice, not to mention the history of the Philippines.
I learned a bit about the Philippines and saw a few historic places. Like the walled city, such a beautiful place filled with memories and remainders of what is left. I don’t think I saw it all in there yet, but if ever you get the chance of being in the Philippines, go see the walled city in Manila.
Next to the history, there are the museums you can visit, which are so amazing. We saw art museums, history and cultured ones, we even saw science museum, where you can interact with so many things and learn at the same time. A must see for when you love a bit of knowledge.
To round up this letter I would just say that the Philippines is a wonderful place where I didn’t even scratch the surface off, and I already love it. With excitement I look forward to go back there again and hope to see and discover more each time. Add it to your list of places to go to and live it yourself.
