Your Letters played a big role in Conversations of Us and never in our wildest dreams that it will actually become a real community. We get stories that are hopeful and some are truly heartbreaking pieces that move us. What we love as well about this community is the continuous exchange of letters by the participants, and this was when we realise that everyone deserves to have a friend that will not judge them or a friend that could simply comfort them in the times where no one could see them. We remember that one of the participants at the Singapore Art Book Fair 2017 even told Eena that this whole thing could actually be a therapeutic one and yes, that is truly an overwhelming comment to hear.
Those things were only some that made us want to make this project grow bigger, indeed, we wanted to bring something good into this world, something that might be long lost and forgotten perhaps. Because sometimes words are the only ones that could heal us and even forgive the demons in ourselves. The whole Your Letters gave us an opportunity to connect to people and to connect people in the strangest way possible. And the whole nice act of the writers/artists/participants restored a portion of our faith in humanity that we wish to grow more in the future.
We wrote this piece right now because one story inspired us, in Singapore, our good friend, Marj, is currently spreading letters and even books in the area and here was where she met one of the participants of our Live Project in SABF 2017. It was so sweet that Marj made us see that we connect people. Yes, we seem to take pride and not be humble in our words for this entry, and we are so sorry for it. Our hearts are simply just happy to read stories like theirs. Read it by clicking either of the photographs below.
